Kendall Jenner: Five tips for stepping out of sis Kim Kardashian's shadow

From popwatch.ew.com
Could the sky be the limit for Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s leggy younger sister? Fifteen-year-old Kendall, Bruce and Kris Kardashian Jenner’s oldest daughter, has made a few bold moves in the last few weeks. Whether sashaying down the red carpet, landing modeling campaigns, or arranging double dates with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, Kendall wants the world to know she’s a force to be reckoned with. We’d like to take a moment to give Kendall some advice for staying a head above the rest. See our tips on everything from dating to finances after the jump.

1.) Etiquette
Call it the Kate Middleton Effect: Fans these days want their celebutantes to behave like ladies. Always keep it dignified. That said, make sure to inject a little Pippa into you life occasionally. I hear there’s a wedding coming up in your family soon. Don’t be afraid to show off your sassy side.

2.) Style
You’ll be hard-pressed to adopt the signature style of your curvaceous sisters, so embrace your willowy figure. Statuesque style icons like Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively, and Rebecca Romijn provide a good template for staying on best-dressed lists. You can also learn from fellow tall girl Uma Thurman’s mistakes: Just say no to milkmaid chic.

3.) Dating
Justin Bieber recently Tweeted a date invitation to you for one of his buddies. (Lame.) Well, Kendall, we think if you want to be taken seriously, don’t go out with Justin Bieber’s buddy. Hold out for something better. Like Bieber himself. Also, avoid digicams and video cameras at all cost!

4.) Money
First off, beware of kredit kards. Beyond that, we encourage you to branch out and take the world by storm solo. Even though it’s — mostly — worked for your celebrity siblings to keep it in the family, you learned on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that having a sister (or mom) as a manager puts extra strain on all aspects of life. Spread your wings, little bird!

5.) Longevity
Never take yourself too seriously. As Cameron Diaz and Charlize Theron before you prove, it is possible to transition from modeling, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Take your time growing up. Maybe even take some time off for school (Emma Watson can give you some advice on that). A long career is a complex career, so don’t be afraid to mix it up (well, maybe don’t ever star in a movie called Repo: The Genetic Opera).
